Solgar Homocysteine Modulators contain ingredients that may help to lower cholesterol. Homocysteine Modulators are amino acids are that are made by the body when protein is broken down. Elevated levels of homocysteines may cause stroke or heart attacks. Clot formation and blocked artery walls are also a cause of raised homocysteine levels. The ingredients in Solgar Homocysteine Modulators work together to optimise blood lipid levels. Trimethylglycine (TMG) – a phytonutrient extracted from sugar beet.  It donates methyl groups to homocysteine to form methionine and may lower cholesterol and total blood lipids. Vitamin B6 – needed for conversion of homocysteine into cystathionine.  Studies show those with low blood levels of B6 are five times more likely to have a heart attack. Vitamin B12 and folic acid – deficiencies in these nutrients lead to high homocysteine levels.  These important B vitamins act as methyl donors to facilitate the conversion of homocysteine back to methionine.

Suggested Directions for Use:

Suggested use: As a food supplement for adults, two (2) vegetable capsules daily, preferably at mealtime, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner.  Do not exceed directions for use.

Long term intakes of this amount of vitamin B6 may lead to mild tingling and numbness.
