Solgar L-Methionine 500mg is an essential amino acid that has antioxidant properties. The body is able to convert methionine to cysteine which acts as a precursor to the detoxifying antioxidant L-Glutathione. Methionine is also lipotropic, helping to support fat metabolism. Solgar L-Methionine 500mg’s formulation provides Free Form L-Methionine to promote optimal absorption and assimilation.

L-Methionine is one the body’s eight essential amino acids that can be found in food sources such as cheese, eggs, fish, meat, and poultry. It can also be found in most fruits and vegetables, but in smaller quantities. It is water soluble, has antioxidant properties and cannot be produced by the body. It is a building block for proteins and peptides. L-Methionine is vital for the synthesis of Creatine and the production of SAMe – a very important nutrient required for proper functioning of muscles and the cardiovascular system. Our body uses methionine to manufacture creatine and also uses the sulfur in methionine for the normal metabolism and growth

Suggested Directions for Use:
As a dietary supplement for adults, take one (1) to two (2) vegetable capsules daily, between meals, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner.
